Carmilla e il segreto di ciliegi

“Di lei mi han detto e non la conoscevo” mi han detto ma io l’ho voluta conoscere Carmilla, mi ha preso per mano e mi ha guidato nel suo segreto dei ciliegi.
Chi è Carmilla? Carmilla è la musa, Carmilla è l'incostante, Carmilla è la curiosa, Carmilla è l’introspettiva, Carmilla è la riflessiva, Carmilla è la paranoica talvolta. Carmilla nasce come un progetto solitario, personale, poi però qualcosa cambia, nasce un bisogno nuovo o forse è sempre lo stesso ma diverso, sempre lo stesso bisogno di comunicazione ma che possa evadere e fuoriuscire dalle quattro intimissime pareti di una cameretta. Ed ecco l’incontro, pochissimi mesi fa, con il resto della band. Carmilla (Giuliana Schiavone – voce) decide di condividere così con gli altri - Roberto Ficarella, batteria, Fabrizio Tatone, basso, Andrea Stefanelli, Marco Marucci, chitarra - il suo segreto. Il risultato di questo incontro è una splendida fusione di differenti personalità artistiche, una fusione che si arricchisce e si evolve in continuazione, soprattutto grazie alle numerose esperienze live (dal 12° Festival Nazionale “Giovani Realtà” di Galatina del luglio 2007 al Premio Janis Joplin 2009 ad Asti) vero momento in cui l’artista mette a nudo la propria arte, mettendo da parte ogni barriera fisica, culturale, psicologica e realizzando l’incontro/scontro con il pubblico. Forse di lei vi han detto o forse non vi han detto nulla, ve lo dico io allora, cercate di conoscerla, la sua voce e la sua musica vi guideranno nel segreto dei ciliegi, nessuno sa dov’è, ma ogni tanto qualcuno ci arriva…

Il mondo del rock è veramente strano ed imprevedibile. Non si spiegherebbe altrimenti come una tranquilla ragazza inglese nata da genitori hippy e cresciuta nelle rurali e paciose campagne del Dorset possa diventare una delle stelle più brillanti del firmamento musicale mondiale, una delle artiste più talentuose, originali ed ispirate in circolazione in questi ultimi anni poveri di vere novità.Polly Jean Harvey è una vera e propria poetessa rock, dotata di una voce scura, intensa e penetrante.Dopo aver esordito nel 1992 con l’album “Dry”, con il quale inizia a farsi conoscere nel panorama musicale tanto da guadagnarsi a soli 22 anni la palma di miglior cantante donna dell’anno da parte della rivista Rolling Stone, la nostra Polly Jean mette sempre più a fuoco la sua musica e pubblica l’anno successivo “Rid Of Me”, un album rumoroso, intenso e senza troppi compromessi.Ma è con l’uscita di “To Bring You My Love” nel 1995 che il “fenomeno P.J. Harvey” esplode in tutto il suo fragore. Il disco vende oltre un milione di copie ed è giustamente considerato una delle pietre miliari del rock degli ultimi 15 anni, un disco che consigliamo a tutti, un insieme di canzoni da brivido che non si può non amare alla follia.Passano tre anni e nel 1998 esce “Is This Desire”, un disco più sperimentale che divide la critica musicale, che però Polly Jean indica ancora come il suo preferito, mentre nel 2000 esce “Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea”, un altro capolavoro assoluto. In tutti questi anni la Harvey non si è fatta mancare collaborazioni eccellenti, tra le quali citiamo quella con il suo idolo dell’adolescenza Nick Cave, con il quale duetta nella splendida “Henry Lee”, il cui video clip fa trasparire chiaramente anche l’intreccio di una relazione sentimentale, e quella con Thom Yorke dei Radiohead.Gli ultimi due album sfornati da P.J.Harvey sono l’ottimo “Huh Huh Her” del 2004 e infine “White Chalk” del 2007, il disco più intimista e scarno della sua carriera, composto quasi esclusivamente al pianoforte, un lavoro che ha bisogno di più di un ascolto per entrarti in testa, ma che una volta arrivato non ti abbandona più. In tutta la sua carriera P.J Harvey ha attraversato più di una trasformazione non solo musicale, ma anche nel look, ha fatto scandalo con i suoi atteggiamenti provocatori e i suoi testi in bilico tra storie dark, femminismo e argomenti a luci rosse. Ora però è una cantante matura, ha abbandonato le mise eccentriche e il trucco pesante. Non sappiamo quale altra trasformazione ci attende, siamo però sicuri di una cosa: Polly Jean Harvey da Yeovil, Dorset, Inghilterra, la ragazza di campagna è già pronta per ravvivare ancora una volta il fuoco nascosto dentro di noi.

PREMIO MOGOL 2009: THE WINNER IS ... POVIA

Ha fatto discutere tanto, è stata criticata, ha creato polemiche per settimane intere, ma alla fine ha vinto pure il Premio Mogol 2009. La canzone “Luca era gay” di Povia ha avuto la meglio sulle altre cinque finaliste dell’evento, organizzato per il secondo anno consecutivo dall’assessorato regionale alla cultura della Valle d’Aosta. In gara per il premio oltre al testo vincitore, c’erano infatti 'Egocentrica' di Simona Molinari, 'Tutto l'universo obbedisce all'amore' di Franco Battiato, 'Il Paradiso dei calzini' di Vinicio Capossela, 'A te' di Jovanotti, e 'Sincerita'' di Arisa. Mogol, il più famoso paroliere italiano, ha dichiarato “So che è un brano che a Sanremo ha creato molte polemiche, ma è un premio che porta il mio nome e va assegnato con coscienza. La canzone racconta un fatto di vita usando la prima persona. E' un testo sincero, senza retorica. E' stata la canzone che di più tra le altre mi ha chiuso la gola, mi ha fatto commuovere per la sua disarmante naturalezza".
